This Fall at High Point Market, we were so excited to introduce an inspiring new chapter in the continuing partnership between Rowe & Robin Bruce and a select group of some of the most influential voices in interior design today. My Rowe Design challenges the designers to use their unique perspectives to showcase their favorite opportunities for customization and diversity of fabric options in the Rowe & Robin Bruce lines. The Fall 2019 My Rowe Designers – Lisa Mende (Lisa Mende Design), Kelley Lentini & Berkeley Minkhorst (House of Nomad), Lori Miya (Miya Interiors) – were each inspired by the overall quality and versatility of the Rowe experience, and as always, the results were stunning!

Each design team offered their own individual vision and style on this project, and we’re excited to reveal their finished designs to you now! Read on for more inspiration and project details from our My Rowe Designers!

Lisa Mende – Lisa Mende Design

A vivid palette of jewel tones meets bold patterns in Lisa’s My Rowe Design space, representing Lisa Mende Design’s signature “laid-back luxe” style. The designer’s goal was to create a relaxing oasis suitable for all ages, with a playful sense of fashionable color and style. “I can picture a family enjoying this space to watch tv, listen to music or play games,” says the designer. Lisa’s space is an inviting example of her eclectic, often travel-inspired aesthetic, combining the family-sized Neval Sectional Sofa in a soothing teal hue with layers of punchy prints like the faux tiger stripes seen on our Robin Bruce Miles Ottoman and the painterly brushstrokes seen on the Nash Swivel Chair.

Lisa’s Inspiration

  • Casual style meets luxurious furnishings
  • Family friendly fabrics and colors are practical
  • Generous, comfortable seating encourages relaxation and family time

Lisa’s My Rowe Design space was inspired by a desire to create a “a pajama lounge with a casual, bohemian vibe” suitable for the whole family. Our generously proportioned Robin Bruce Neval Sectional and a variety of more petite seating options like our Juno Ottoman make it easy to imagine family members enjoying this welcoming space to lounge and socialize. Overall, Lisa loves the versatility of options from Rowe and Robin Bruce. “I chose fabrics that are soft and comfortable,” says the designer, “as well as forgiving fabrics and colors that are good for families.”

Why Lisa Loves Rowe Furniture

“As designers, we go to market looking for treasures for our clients. This market, the treasures I discovered were the people I met thanks to Rowe Furniture. Not only does Rowe have a wonderful showroom with beautiful furniture, but Rowe is also filled with awesome people who genuinely want to help designers succeed.”

Kelley Lentini & Berkeley Minkhorst – House of Nomad

Kelley Lentini and Berkeley Minkhorst of House of Nomad drew inspiration from their “modern, eclectic, and globally influenced” style to create their My Rowe Design space. Texture abounds in Kelley & Berkeley’s space, including a feathered floor lamp by Regina Andrew and a massive chunky knit throw from Amity Home, as well as eye-catching wallcoverings from Mitchell Black and, of course, their favorite Rowe fabrics. “We felt really strongly about a patterned sectional,” say the designers, ultimately selecting the Asher Sectional Sofa in a high-impact geometric print. “Solids are great,” they add, “but you can make such an impact if you take a risk and go with a pattern on a large upholstered piece!” As self-described “big fan girls” of the Gigi Ottoman, including a pair of these swiveling seats to round out the space was a natural choice.

Kelley & Berkeley’s Inspiration

  • Upscale palette of chic, warm neutrals
  • Pattern on pattern makes a bold visual statement
  • Variety of seating options provides maximum comfort

Customization was key for the designers, who fell in love with an upholstery offering inspired by the bold geometry of Kuba cloth. This unique African-style print, paired with our Robin Bruce Ellice Loungers, was a perfect fit for their global travel-influenced aesthetic and formed the basis of their My Rowe Design,. Berkeley and Kelley used a pair of the Ellice Loungers alongside two of our shapely, curved Pate Chairs to create a unique sitting area. “We also love the versatility of these items,” say the HON designers, “since you change the fabric and you get a totally different look.”

Why They Love Rowe

“We love all things Rowe! The trade department is one of the most responsive, amazing trade departments out there. Most importantly, our clients love Rowe.”

Lori Miya – Miya Interiors

Lori’s style inspiration for Miya Interiors flows from many sources, including fashion, architecture and travel, all of which are evident in her My Rowe Design. For this space, the designer “wanted it to have the warmth and familiarity of a classic library space,” but to incorporate some of her current favorite modern elements as well. The Madeline Sofa from Robin Bruce, a centerpiece of Lori’s space, blends chic & elegant elements together seamlessly in a comfortable mix of traditional and modern. Upscale finishes such as brass, crystal, and the rich tufted upholstery of our Thatcher Leather Chair give a sense of fashion-inspired luxury in her My Rowe Design space, while the streamlined color palette keeps the focus on the well-designed lines and silhouettes of her chosen furnishings.

Lori’s Inspiration

  • Modern, moody palette
  • A touch of pattern and texture for contrast
  • Plenty of options for seating and lounging in a library setting

The wide range of fabric and frames available from Rowe and Robin Bruce gave Lori her inspiration, offering endless possibilities for customization to fit her traditional modern style. Lori’s vision called for large-scale frames to complement the size of the space, ultimately including the elongated lines of the Robin Bruce Ellice Lounger, Madeline Sofa, and our sky-high 74” Dynasty Bar Cabinet. Another standout is the pair of Thatcher Chairs in black leather, which creates the classic library feel that Lori was after, but in a way that feels updated and streamlined rather than antique.

Why Lori Loves Rowe

“So many reasons I love working with Rowe! Quality, the size of the line … I can really take any project and go to Rowe and know I’m going to find the scale and the style I need. But honestly, above all, it’s the customer service. I feel like Rowe has become my family.”
