The New Year is always a great time to make a fresh start in all things, and we think that starts with sprucing up your living space. If your New Year’s resolution is to work out a new design strategy, we’ve got just the inspiration you need! Our trend forecast for 2019 calls for traditional style with a twist, glamorous global looks, dark palettes and more. We’ve grouped together our top five ideas below to help inspire your next project–whether you’re building a room from the ground up or just switching out one or two pieces strategically, it’s easy to make a big impact with little effort by keeping an eye on these on-trend looks.
Eclectic Refresh
Inspired by a timeless aesthetic that keeps things colorful and playful, we’re seeing a trend towards a modern classic style that includes plenty of luxurious details. This dynamic look evolved from our Traditional Remix style, seen in the showroom in fall 2018. Need a palette refresher for 2019? Look to rich, saturated colors including lagoon blue, persimmon orange and moss green. Warm neutrals such as ivory, champagne and sable are also among the must-haves for this updated, eclectic traditional look.

Go bold for 2019, punching up your existing look with increasingly colorful patterns, heavier textures and darker, warmer neutrals–for a maximalist aesthetic that proclaims your style boldly! Another up & coming look, inspired by fashionable world travelers everywhere…think natural luxury with a West Coast organic feel for this upscale perspective on global glamour. This aesthetic is an updated version of a style we created for our fall 2018 showroom, which debuted as Tribal Glamour. The palette is warm neutrals such as sandstone, mink and flint offset by earthy, sophisticated hues like lagoon blue, rosewood, pale terracotta, and olive.

Ready to try this style? Start with a few key pieces with a mid-century modern feel, and play around with symmetry, adding in a few naturally asymmetrical elements to throw things just a little off-kilter. We love the paired etageres, chairs, sofas and ottomans in this space, set off by slightly mismatched accessories for visual interest. Her trend forecast for the new year includes soothing, globally-inspired textures in a monochromatic palette, offset by touches of brass and plenty of lush greenery. Worldly luxury meets a hint of wit in this luscious look imagined by My Rowe Designers Jessica Bennett and Suzanne Hall. For their fall 2018 space, the designers showcased one of the hottest trends-to-be of 2019, curved furniture. This style blends luxurious, upscale textiles such as wool, velvet and chenille with a vivid and feminine palette. The result? Don’t be afraid of the dark–embrace deep, saturated hues for a change of pace in 2019! Start with paint and take your space in a new direction with walls drenched in rich raisin, plum or aubergine. Try an accent wall first if you’re not quite ready to take the full plunge! Next, dial up the drama by layering in textiles on the furnishings and walls. We love the way the strong vertical folds of the drapery contrast with the horizontal channel tufting of our Ivy Lane Queen Bed. Finally, add in some:

Natural hemp & jute meets the upscale glamour of marble & brass in this look based on Leyla Jaworski and Whitney Rose’s My Rowe Design fall 2018 space. Their adventurous, trend-forward design has us reaching for natural materials for 2019, including plenty of hemp, jute and wood accents in a glam boho style that’s anything but rustic. Bring in natural neutrals like eggshell, sand, and even olive green to create a soothing, laid-back palette. Ready to try something a bit more adventurous? A bold graphic wallpaper (again, try an accent wall rather than a whole room if you’re nervous) packs visual punch without adding color. Upscale flourishes such as brass & marble accents make this aesthetic feel equal parts chic downtown condo and outdoors-inspired bungalow.
