Sakura Considine Project Reveal

Sakura’s timeless, casual chic style is inspired by a straightforward approach to design, allowing each element in a space enough room to breathe and to attract attention all on its own. “I would say my style is classic, yet modern,” she says, “and I tried to translate that with how I styled the Madeline sofa.” Madeline’s modern lines provide an eye-catching centerpiece in the room, while the subtle sheen of the pale green velvet contrasts nicely against the warm and rustic wood of the floors and mid century-style table, as well as the crisp white wall that frames the scene. “I love the simplicity of it all,” Sakura says.

As the focal point in the front room is the Madeline sofa, Sakura chose muted colors such as creams and greys to layer around the lovely green velvet. Although dressed in neutrals, even the coffee table displays her personality, with a few well-chosen coffee table books (Home Body by Joanna Gaines and Glow From Within by Joanna Vargas, anyone?), a large candle and some chic dried botanicals. Ultimately, comfort and classic style were her main priority. “The gallery wall keeps it personal and warm, the coffee table and the decor is simple and compliments well with the classic yet modern sofa, says Sakura. “It’s loud…but not too loud.”

On her design style: “I’d say my style is pretty simple, so that’s the direction I went here. I personally think less is more!”

3 essentials that every room needs: “I’d have to say books, candles, and some type of plant!”

Pro-Tips! Contrast is Key

“I’m always all about the contrast that compliments each other.  I think everything should stand out from one another, so each item gets the attention it deserves.” Sakura’s stunning wall display of black & white photographs, crisply framed and matted in white, is a perfect example of this. The look is as pristine as a gallery display, yet the moments captured are warm and intimate. This gallery wall also focuses attention on the Madeline sofa centered directly below it, echoing the sofa’s structured angles and frame-like appearance. A touch of minimalism in the design means that each object in this room can be appreciated from all angles — although we can’t keep our eyes off that gorgeous sofa, of course!

Why Sakura loves Rowe

“The quality and the beautiful design are incredible. Often times, gorgeous accent pieces like this are not that comfortable, but let me tell you, this one is very, very comfortable — I could sit on it all day long!”
